Hackintosh: Mac OS X on a Gigabyte GA-EX38-DS4
June 19th, 2009 - Check it out! adamo talks about Mac OS X on his Gigabyte GA-EX38-DS4:
I''ve been using Mac OS X since version 10.0, but I''ve never been able to come up with the cash to lay down for a decent, powerful Mac. It''s always been old hand me downs, nothing more powerful than a G3. I''ve loved OS X since the first time played with it, but Macs are expensive, and hardware choices are limited. Some of their designs are cool, but none of them follow a standard form factor. You can''t just keep your case and drives and upgrade just your core components, like you can with a PC. You''ve got to buy a whole damn computer every time you want to upgrade. I love their operating system, but for the money Apple''s hardware just doesn''t do it for me. Naturally I was super psyched when Apple announced they would be switching over to Intel hardware. I knew the day would come when I would by running OS X on my own custom PC, and it did.

The Role of Web 2.0 and the Evolution of the World Wide Web
March 12th, 2009 - The concept of Web 2.0 has created a lot of discussion and debate since it was introduced. Take a look at Web 2.0 and the Evolving Web for a deeper explanation of Web 2.0 and what it really means for the big picture. I believe the idea of Web 2.0 represents many things, but at the core of it all it represents a shift in the evolution of the Internet. A "tipping point" of sorts.

Free Firefox Extension Checks Google Cache
October 24th, 2008 - Just checked out this free Google cache checker from Gadget Advisor. This handy tool is a tiny Firefox extension that tells you at a glance if a site is cached in Google. Seeing the cache status in Google for any Website you browse can be very useful for anyone promoting a Website online. Or for anyone maniacally obsessed with having every last bit of search engine data at their fingertips. Either way, a great little free extension for Firefox.

Many of you here are either involved with the marketing of a web site for another company or operate a web site or blog of your own. For either case, being able to immediately see if a page is cached by Google would be invaluable. That s exactly what the Google Cache Checker extension for Firefox offers.

New Review at the Moditory
July 15th, 2007 - New Review at the Moditory @ The Moditory

Team Xtreem GB PC64 CL3 Review
July 15th, 2007 - Once the latencies were eased up to 4-4-4-8, the modules feltvery relaxed and wanted to clock higher. Since the AW9D-MAX runs out ofsteam at about 470FSB, we had to use dividers to get the modules tooperate at a higher speed. We easily achieved 500MHz at 4-4-4-8 withjust 2.35V but we had to pump more voltage to get it going. We finallyended up at 550MHz (DDR2-1100) which required 2.55V to be stable. Thisis not bad considering that the latencies were pretty tight at 4-4-4-8.

This is a very great option for consumers who want to SLI support on the Core 2 Duo platform. So let''s take a look at this budget board from ASUS.

Velocity Micro is one of the few companies out there that will do this for you. Today we will be taking a look at their Gamers'' Edge DualX Custom Gaming PC. Razer Copperhead
February 26th, 2007 - Here we have the front view and rear view of the RazerCopperhead. The Copperhead is designed to be symmetrical as it can beused as a right-handed mouse or a left-handed mouse. The two mainbuttons are quite large and there''s a semitransparent scroll wheel inbetween the two buttons. We were told that main buttons have been coatedwith non-slip rubber, but the button feels like hard plastic. The mousemeasures in at 5.04 in length and 2.5 in width, so it''s really not abulky mouse...

Alienware Aurora m97 7-inch Laptop Review

nMedia Wireless RF Keyboard with Trackball Review
February 21st, 2007 - I just built a brand new HTPC last week. I am using the SilverStone LC14MC HTPC case. The case came with a wireless remote, but I still need to have a keyboard and mouse connected when I want to transfer files via USB, or just sit in my bed and surf the web. When you go down to you local computer store the only wireless keyboards and mice are the high-end expensive one. Well nMedia has a great solution that solves the keyboard and mouse problem, their wireless RF keyboard with trackball!

Proxy Servers Gone Wild
February 15th, 2007 - Proxy Servers Gone Wild

A few years ago a phenomenon was born which, unbeknownst to even itself, was probably the first MFA Web proxy that would spawn a legion of followers. Great demand, fueled by the most adament of crowds - Myspace addicts - drives the demand for proxies relentlessly.

Armies of proxy servers haven''t been the only result of this demand. Users searching for MySpace unblockers and bypass proxies have spawned an entirely new vocabulary of niche slang. Proxies used to be the domain of hackers and geeks, not thirteen year old valley girls. But, as MySpace has become ridiculously popular so have thirteen year old valley girls trying to message their valley boyfriends on MySpace. And on Bebo. And Facebook. And Friendster. The number of social networking sites, MySpace spinoffs and resource sites has grown immensely.

So everyone is hunting for a MySpace proxy site so they can unblock MySpace, or if they are trying to get on Bebo then a Bebo proxy or what you might call a Bebo unblocker. A Bebo unblocker sort of makes me think of medicine. For unblocking Bebo. Yikes.

So in the wake of this relentless army of thirteen year olds regularly trying to thwart their sysadmins and simply getting blocked from every proxy on the Web we have Webmasters teeming with sites ready to deliver. Except they crash all the time, because proxies are a real pain in the butt to run. And not only are there hordes of kiddies trying to use them, real hackers and warez distributors are constantly hunting for fresh new sites to abuse. Yikes again.

Luckily, even though sites are continually blocked new ones crop up every day, and some Webmasters are trying to create stable proxy networks with many suceeding quite well. Proxy top sites, proxy.org and proxy directories can find you new proxies on a regular basis though.
