Fury-Tech.com Nameserver Issues |
February 22nd, 2003 - !!! ATTENTION !!!
It appears that my DNS provider for Fury-Tech.com (Zoneedit.com), has been experiencing some problems as the site and the forums have been offline for about 5-6 hours now.
Fury-Tech.com seems to be available again, although same can''t be said for the forums.
BIG apologies to anyone trying to access the site recently, and hopefully down the road I''ll be moving Fury-Tech.com to a better server.

PHP Security Advisory: CGI vulnerability in PHP version 4.3.0 |

February 19th, 2003 - The PHP Group has learned of a serious security vulnerability in the CGI SAPI of PHP version 4.3.0.
Description
PHP contains code for preventing direct access to the CGI binary with configure option "--enable-force-cgi-redirect" and php.ini option "cgi.force_redirect". In PHP 4.3.0 there is a bug which renders these options useless.
NOTE: This bug does NOT affect any of the other SAPI modules.
(such as the Apache or ISAPI modules, etc.)
Impact
Anyone with access to websites hosted on a web server which employs the CGI module may exploit this vulnerability to gain access to any file readable by the user under which the webserver runs.
A remote attacker could also trick PHP into executing arbitrary PHP code if attacker is able to inject the code into files accessible by the CGI. This could be for example the web server access-logs.
Solution
The PHP Group has released a new PHP version, 4.3.1, which incorporates a fix for the vulnerability. All users of affected PHP versions are encouraged to upgrade to this latest version. The downloads web site at

has the new 4.3.1 source tarballs, Windows binaries and source patch from 4.3.0 available for download. You will only need to upgrade if you''re using the CGI module of PHP 4.3.0. There are no other bugfixes contained in this release.

February 5th, 2003 - Good morning! (or afternoon, or evening depending on when you read this...)
With all of the new members at the forums, on the site, and the few technical problems that have cropped up, I thought it time to post a little something here.
First of all, thanks to everyone who has visited. Whether you registered here, the forums, or just looked around, I''m glad you took the time, and I hope we see you back again soon.
To all of you who have experienced problems with your sign-up EMail I would like to apologize. The problem has been fixed at this point AFAIK.
If anybody experiences any kind of problems, I will do everything I can to resolve them, but I need to know about them! So far you have all been great in letting me know, and even better in understanding.
So if you have any problems, on the forums or Fury-Tech.com, be sure to drop me a line describing the problem with as much detail as possible. You can drop a post in the Site Feedback & Questions Forum, or just send an email to tekime@fury-tech.com.
