Thermalright HR-5 Chipset Heatsink Review |
June 27th, 2006 - Overall, the Thermalright HR-05 is an impressive chipset = heatsink. Thermalright did the right choice by following the foot steps = of the High-Riser series and the result speaks for itself. Although the = size of the heatsink is massive, we couldn''t believe how easy it was to = install. Furthermore, it was designed to work passively but it is also = possible to install a 70mm or even an 80mm fan on it. When tested = passively, the HR-05 was way better than the stock cooler and it was = still a solid 11=BAC cooler when overclocked.

Corsair TWINX48-44PRO GB Kit Review |
June 22nd, 2006 - After a battery of benchmarking and torture testing, it''s = rather impossible for us not to claim the Corsair TWINX2048-4400PRO as = the king of 2GB DDR memory kit. The modules have got great scores from = all aspects including aesthetics, performance, stability and = overclocking. Being the fastest retail 2GB DDR kit in the planet, we = managed to squeeze another 5MHz from them which resulted in a stable = operating memory frequency of 280MHz (DDR560) at 3-4-4-8-1T. Despite it = was rated to run at 275MHz at 3-4-4-8-2T, we managed to run it at = 3-4-4-8-1T and even 3-3-2-5-1T without any stability issues.

June 22nd, 2006 - On March 8, 2005, an unknown company, called Ageia, announced a new devi= ce type to be launched on the market: Physics Processing Unit, PPU. As PhysX PPU was announced at t= he traditional annual GDC 2005, no one had any doubts concerning the usag= e of the new coprocessors. A year after the announcement, on May 9, 2006,= the first PhysX cards started to appear in stores. Today we are going to= examine a production-line card PhysX P1 from ASUS. But at first let''s re= view the physical theory =97 as it''s understood by Ageia.

Thermaltake Silent Water Cooling Kit Review |
June 17th, 2006 - Priced at just USD$100 / RM360, the Thermaltake Silent Water = kit is one of the cheapest entry-level water cooling kits out in the = market. Its performance was also decent as it managed to keep our highly = overclocked Opteron 144 processor running at 2.8GHz with temperatures of = only 41=BAC at full load. There''s no way you can get this sort of = performance in a water cooling kit which uses copper water block, copper = reservoir and semi-copper radiator for such a good value.

Thermalright Ultra-9 LGA775 Review |
June 14th, 2006 - Thermalright has definitely stepped up the game with the = Ultra-90. The installation was a breeze and the build quality is getting = better. We strongly recommend the Ultra-90 to anyone looking at = purchasing a powerful CPU heatsink without having to worry about = motherboard compatibility or installation issues. The Ultra-90 also = performed decently while beating almost any heatsink we pitted against = it, except for the SI-120. Overall, the Ultra-90 is a high-end CPU = heatsink and it only costs about USD$40 / RM145.

June 13th, 2006 - When shopping for a waterblock you will run across many shapes = and sizes, some are very ornate in design while others are simple, = square, and to the point. OCLabs appears to be following the less is = more approach to waterblock design and it works quite well.

Digit-Life Review: Shuttle SNG5 Barebone Kit with NVIDIA GeForce 6 Integrated Video |
June 9th, 2006 - Shuttle SN21G5 belongs to the high style category, as it features = integrated video and a cooling system optimized for medium-rank = components, keeping its noise level to minimum. In fact, it will be very = difficult to silence a computer in a full-size PC case to the same low = level (just a power supply unit in a cheap PC case can be noisier than = our entire computer under review). However, it''s possible to install = hotter components, and we actually did it for our tests...

The modules come with one of the most = unique memory heatspreaders in the planet, which did a great job in = keeping the modules cool. Corsair Nautilus5 Water Cooling Kit Review |
June 2nd, 2006 - Corsair scored well when the implemented the quick disconnect = fitting on the Nautilus500 as this feature made this kit suitable for = LAN events. I''ve been to a few LAN parties before and transporting a = water cooled rig can be a risky task. With the Nautilus500, I simply = disconnect the external unit, bag it, and I''m ready to go. Once I''m = there, I simply plug and play! No more worries on loose tubings or = checking for leaks. In fact, my water cooled rig was much lighter when = transporting with the Nautilus500 unit disconnected. This was obviously = impossible with most internal water cooling kit, including the Swiftech = H20 120SB kit.
