Biostar TForce P965 Deluxe Motherboard Review
September 28th, 2006 - The board has a decent layout but we wish the power connectorsand IDE connector were relocated. This could cause some problemsespecially if you love to keep the cables tidy. Nevertheless, themotherboard worked flawlessly and lives up to its reputation. Afterputting it through over 24 hours of overclocked torture test, the boardis still kicking. Overclocking was also pretty easy and straightforwardas we could easily key in 400MHz FSB and boot straight into Windowswithout needing to bump motherboard voltages. The board also overclockedimpressively as we achieved 472MHz FSB without a sweat

OCZ PC-64 Special Ops Edition Urban Elite GB Kit Review
September 25th, 2006 - The PC2-6400 Special Ops Edition Urban Elite kit is a prettyimpressive DDR2-800 kit from OCZ. The heatspreaders looked sleek and itwould certainly add a touch of uniqueness to your rig. It was originallyrated at 400MHz with 4-4-3 latencies but we had no issues running themover 500MHz. With a maximum warranted VDIMM of up to 2.3V with EVP, wemanaged to achieve 475MHz with 4-4-4 timings, which was not too shabby. In fact, these Urban Elite modules currently hold the fastest records inour labs and were faster than other expensive DDR2 modules we havetested here. Although it required higher voltages to overclock, itallowed us to overclock to 565MHz (DDR1130 - PC2-9040) at 5-5-5 timingsand the system was rock stable even after 8 hours of Prime torturetest. This overclock was the fastest we have seen on any Micron D9GMHbased modules...

Thermalright HR-5-SLI Chipset Heatsink Review
September 21st, 2006 - All in all, the HR-05-SLI heatsink is yet another impressivechipset cooler by Thermalright. It has two heatpipes, a large copperbase and massive surface area designed for passive cooling. Although itwas originally designed for passive cooling, you can always hook a 70mmor 80mm fan onto it and enjoy up even cooler chipset temperatures. Whilewe were utterly impressed with the original HR-05, we were amazed withthe newer HR-05-SLI. Thermalright had certainly put a lot of thoughtinto designing the HR-05-SLI that if installs on multi GPU motherboardssuch as NVIDIA SLI and ATI CrossFire. If you have a DFI LAN Party nF4motherboard, this is perhaps the best chipset cooler you can buy foryour motherboard. On our first motherboard, it was 10=BAC cooler but oursecond motherboard recorded a whopping 28=BAC cooler with theThermalright chipset heatsink. If you are looking for the best chipsetheatsink for your multi GPU motherboard, then the Thermalright HR-05-SLIworth checking out. For around $26 / RM100, this chipset heatsink is notvery expensive when compared to other chipset heatsink with heatpipes.

Biostar TForce 59 SLI Deluxe Motherboard Review
September 2nd, 2006 - The Biostar TForce 590 SLI Deluxe motherboard is a pretty good = socket AM2 motherboard. The package is impressive and you even get some = freebies inside it. Based on the infamous NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI chipset, = the TForce 590 SLI Deluxe is targeted towards the high-end market. The = board layout is pretty decent and most of the components were well laid = out. Stability was not compromised as Biostar used quality components = around the motherboard such as aluminium capacitors, 6-phase PWM and = wide low-profile SB cooler. We also thought that the TForce 590 SLI = Deluxe motherboard would be targeted by modders and enthusiasts as the = board tends to illuminate under UV lighting. It comes with dual PCI-E = x16 slots, dual Gigabit LAN, five SATA connectors and along with a = single external SATA connector at the rear I/O panel. The board boots at = up to 350HTT but we were able to ClockGen our way up to 420HTT, which = isn''t too shabby. With plenty of overclocking headroom left, we easily = maxed out our little 3000+ Orleans 1.8GHz processor to an amazing 3GHz = clock speed. Considering that the motherboard retails at only $199 / = RM730, the Biostar TForce 590 SLI Deluxe has got to be a steal! There''s = no way you can purchase a high-end nForce 590 SLI motherboard at that = price. Plus, it overclocks like a beast too!
